Fiona Sutherland is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Director of The Mindful Dietitian, based in Melbourne Australia. She has been practicing for over 15 years as a specialist in mindfulness-based practice, eating behavior, eating disorders, body image, sports nutrition & education/training. She is a HAES-aligned, body-inclusive Non Diet Dietitian passionate about supporting Health Professionals to develop skills in understanding more about the complexities of client presentations, and how we can focus on wellbeing and equitable care.
She’s a dedicated mindfulness practitioner and Yoga Teacher, bringing a particular emphasis on mindful eating and the intersection of food environment, eating psychology and body image into her work and training. She has trained in MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction), MSC (Mindful Self Compassion) and MB-EAT (Mindfulness Based Eating Awareness Training). Fiona is guest lecturer across Masters Level Dietetics courses in Melbourne within the areas of Health At Every Size, Non Diet Approach, Body Image and counseling skills.
Fiona also hosts The Mindful Dietitian Podcast and is also a Sports Dietitian, working with emerging professional dancers at The Australian Ballet School.
